New Delhi: PM Modi is currently in Kolkata to check the damage caused to West Bengal due to cyclonic storm. But his visit is special in view of some political developments in the recent past, that too when Mamata Banerjee is the Chief Minister of West Bengal and the outspoken critic of the Center.

He was welcomed by CM Mamata as soon as he reached Kolkata airport, but during this time, when CM Mamata wanted PM Modi to wear a shawl, PM politely refused to take it while following social distancing. After this, PM Modi made an aerial tour of the Amphan affected areas on Friday. After conducting the survey, PM Modi has announced initial assistance of Rs 1000 crore for West Bengal, he said that soon a team of the Center will come to the state and do a survey.

After an aerial survey, PM Modi said that when the Corona virus epidemic is in the country, the storm affected the eastern region. PM Modi said that both the state and the central government had already prepared for this storm, but even after this, we could not save the lives of 80 people. There has been a lot of property damage due to this storm, in which houses have been destroyed and there has been a big loss to the infrastructure.
