NEW DELHI: The new national symbol that was cast on the roof of the new Parliament building was unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday. According to officials, the 6.5-meter-tall insignia is constructed of bronze and weighs a total of 9,500 kg.

It has been cast at the top of the new Parliament building's main foyer, and a steel support system weighing about 6,500 kg has been built to hold up the insignia.  The Prime Minister also spoke with construction workers who were working on the new Parliament.

There have been eight separate preparation stages for the concept sketch and process of casting the national insignia on the roof of the new Parliament building, from clay modeling and computer graphics to bronze casting and polishing.

In addition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various developmental projects worth Rs 16,000 crore in Deoghar, a famous pilgrimage site in Jharkhand, tomorrow.  The PM will address the closing ceremony of the centenary celebrations of the Bihar Legislative Assembly in Patna.

A port, a railway station in Godda, a bridge across the Ganga River, and national highways are just a few of the other projects that the prime minister has started for Jharkhand and the Santhal Pargana region.

Modi will officially open an airport at Deoghar, which was built at an estimated cost of about Rs 400 crore, as a crucial step toward establishing direct connectivity to Baba Baidyanath Dham, a significant holy destination for devotees from all across the nation.
