New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden attended the virtual meeting on Monday. During this, Joe Biden said that the US and India will continue talks to deal with the destabilizing effects of the Russian war in Ukraine. At the same time, PM Modi emphasized the discussion between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian counterpart Zelensky to deal with this crisis. Terming the situation in Ukraine as worrying, PM Modi said, I hope that talks between Moscow and Kyiv will bring peace.

In a statement issued by the White House, it has been said that Modi and Biden have discussed the global food supply as well as the destabilizing effects of the war between Ukraine and Russia. At the same time, PM Modi said that, the recent reports of killing of innocent civilians in Bucha city are very worrying and India immediately condemned it and demanded a fair investigation. Referring to his phone discussions with Ukrainian and Russian Presidents, PM Modi said that he had suggested Russian President Vladimir Putin to hold direct talks with his Ukrainian counterpart Zelensky.
 
This virtual meeting between PM Modi and President Biden has taken place at a time when India is importing oil from Russia amid the war with Ukraine and America is not happy with this move. Joe Biden in his statement talked about a strong defense partnership between India and America. At the same time, he also emphasized that the two countries will continue talks amid the war between Ukraine and Russia.
