New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a tour of Assam today, where he has given a gift of Rs 14 thousand 300 crore to the state. He has gifted the first AIIMS and three medical colleges to northeast India. He said that in the last nine years, there has been a lot of discussion about the connectivity of the Northeast. Whoever comes here today does not remain without praise here. He said that work has been done on social infrastructure here. A lot of work has been done here in the fields of education and medicine. I had the privilege of inaugurating an AIIMS and three medical colleges here today.

Prime Minister Modi said that some people have problems when the development of the North East is discussed. These people are worried about credit. The credit-hungry people of the Northeast seemed far away. He created a feeling of alienation. Prime Minister Modi said that the present government is working in the spirit of service. The Prime Minister said that AIIMS in Delhi was built in the 1950s. People used to come from every corner of the country for treatment. Atalji's government tried to open AIIMS at other places, but later everything came to a standstill; the AIIMS that were opened were working due to a lack of facilities. We worked on 15 AIIMS. Due to the policies of the previous governments, we have had a shortage of doctors and medical professionals. This lack was an obstacle to quality health care, so the present government has worked on increasing medical infrastructure and professionals.

The Prime Minister said that in the 10 years before 2014, 150 medical colleges were built, but more than 300 medical colleges have been built under our government. The seats in medical colleges have been increased a lot. We have started medical education in Indian languages so that people from faraway places can take it. The Prime Minister said that policy intentions and loyalty are not done out of any selfishness but rather by the policy of nation first and countryman first. You don't have to go far for treatment. The plan was made so that the poor do not have to worry about treatment. Treatment Modi told people about the Ayushman Yojana and also mentioned the Jan Aushadhi Yojana for medicines used in treatment. Our government also emphasised preventive healthcare so that fewer people got sick. Free dialysis facilities are also being made available to the public. Work is underway on the plan to give Ayushman cards to 1 crore people in Assam. People tell that there is a lot of difference in the health facilities between the time of the previous government and the present government.
