JODHPUR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a significant mark on Thursday in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, as he initiated a host of transformative development projects with a total estimated budget of around Rs 5,000 crore. These projects not only promise to reshape the region's infrastructure but also offer a promising future for the people of Jodhpur.

Among the highlights of the day, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated two new train services in Rajasthan, ushering in improved connectivity for the state. The "Runicha Express" now links the majestic city of Jaisalmer to the bustling capital of Delhi, while a heritage train connects Marwar Junction to Khambli Ghat, providing a nostalgic journey for passengers.

Furthermore, two crucial rail projects were unveiled by the Prime Minister, both of immense importance. The first project entails doubling the 'Degana-Rai Ka Bagh' rail line, stretching across 145 kilometers, and the second involves the expansion of the 'Degana-Kuchaman City' rail line, covering a distance of 58 kilometers.

In the realm of healthcare, a major milestone was reached with the inauguration of a state-of-the-art 'Trauma Centre and Critical Care Hospital Block' at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Jodhpur. Complementing this achievement, seven Critical Care Blocks under the Pradhan Mantri - Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM) are set to be established across Rajasthan, bolstering healthcare facilities across the state.

The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for the ambitious 'New Terminal Building' at Jodhpur Airport, a project expected to cost approximately Rs 480 crore. This modern terminal promises to enhance air travel services in the region significantly.

In the academic sphere, a monumental occasion unfolded as the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur campus was dedicated to the nation. The state-of-the-art campus, constructed with an investment of over Rs 1,135 crore, embodies the future of technical education in the region.

Turning attention to education, Prime Minister Modi contributed to the enhancement of infrastructure at the Central University of Rajasthan. This included the inauguration of a 'central instrumentation laboratory,' staff quarters, and a 'yoga & sports sciences building.' Additionally, he laid the foundation stone for the construction of a Central Library, a 600-capacity Hostel, and a dining facility to enrich the lives of students.

Notably, road development projects were not overlooked on this momentous day. The Prime Minister unveiled multiple road projects, with an estimated cumulative cost of approximately Rs 1,475 crore. The Jodhpur Ring Road, in particular, holds the promise of alleviating traffic congestion and reducing vehicular pollution in the city.

With Rajasthan gearing up for elections later this year, these development initiatives underscore the Bharatiya Janata Party's commitment to ushering in positive change and improving the lives of the people in the desert state. These projects not only signify progress in infrastructure and education but also serve as a testament to the government's dedication to the well-being of its citizens.
