New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi is addressing a webinar on the Defense Sector after the budget. In the Union Budget 2022-23 attached to the Ministry of Defense, emphasis has been laid on further strengthening self-reliance in the defense sector. Addressing the webinar, PM Modi said that even during the period of slavery and immediately after independence, the strength of our defense manufacturing was very high. Weapons made in India played a big role in the Second World War. He said that in the last few years, the self-reliance that India is emphasizing in its defense sector, you will see its commitment in this year's budget.

Along with this, Prime Minister Modi said, 'This year's budget has a blueprint to develop a vibrant ecosystem from research, design and development to manufacturing within the country. About 70 percent of the defense budget has been kept for domestic industry only. That is our greatest strength. The more we use this power in our defense sector, the more confident we will be in our security. As cyber security is no longer limited only to the digital world. It has also become a matter of national security. On the surface, Prime Minister Modi said, 'When we bring weapons from outside, its process is so long that by the time they reach our security forces, many of them are out of date.

Its solution is also in self-reliant India campaign and Make in India. He said that last year we had formed 7 new Defense Public Undertakings. Today they are expanding business at a fast pace, reaching new markets. It is also very pleasant that in the last 5-6 years, we have increased defense exports 6 times. New industrial licenses have been issued. Whereas in the fourteen years from 2001 to 2014, only 200 licenses were issued. Even in World War-2, weapons made in India played a big role. However, its strength weakened in later years. This shows that there has never been a dearth of capabilities in India. Controversy arose with every purchase. The competition between different manufacturers also opens the doors of corruption. We also get solutions for this through self-reliant India campaign.
