SYDNEY: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing a community event with Indian Diasporas' in Australia's Sydney on Monday said that three C's join India and Australia which is otherwise divided in geographical terminology. The three Cs namely  Commonwealth, Cricket & Curry.

The PM arrived in Sydney today as a guest of the Australian government and the visit builds on the Australia-India Annual Leaders' Summit in New Delhi in March and discussions at the G7 Summit and Quad Leaders' meeting in Hiroshima, Japan over the weekend.

In celebration of Australia's vibrant and diversified Indian Diaspora, which the Australian government refers to as "a core part" of its multicultural community, Prime Minister Modi and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese are both present at a community gathering in Sydney.

The Indian Ocean  connects the Indian subcontinent to the island continent in the southern hemisphere, the PM said. He  added that although Indian cooking is distinct from that of other countries, "Masterchef" serves as a bridge between them. Popular cooking reality TV show Masterchef Australia has had a substantial presence of Indian participants and Indian food in recent years. 

The relationship between India and Australia in the sport of cricket is nothing new. Australia has consistently presented Indian cricket teams with a stiff opponent in World Cups and Test championships. 

India and Australia are both members of the third C- Commonwealth and have both experienced British colonial authority in the past. These nations are included in the collection of former British colonies known as the Commonwealth.  'Little India' has been given to a Sydney neighbourhood.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Australian countgerpart  Anthony Albanese officially renamed a street in Sydney, Australia, "Little India" on Tuesday during a special community event.

Harris Park is a hub in Western Sydney where the Indian Diasportas celebrates festivals and events such as Diwali and Australia Day. The announcement to declare Harris Park as 'Little India' was made by Australian PM Antoney Albanese as he welcomed Modi at the community event. The prime proposal for officially naming the area 'Little India' was made in 2015.
