Prime Minister Narendra Modi has shared glimpses of his participation in the G7 Summit in Italy, highlighting India's perspective on the global stage.

In a video posted by PM Modi, he showcased key moments from his visit to Italy, including his arrival and a warm welcome from Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni at the G7 Summit venue in Apulia.

The video captures PM Modi's interactions during bilateral meetings with leaders such as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Japanese PM Fumio Kishida, and French President Emmanuel Macron. It also shows PM Modi engaging with Pope Francis and other world leaders, including US President Joe Biden, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Canadian PM Justin Trudeau, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. Additionally, PM Modi met UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on the sidelines of the summit. 

The video highlights a moment when PM Meloni took a selfie with PM Modi during their interactions.

Sharing the video on his social media platform, PM Modi wrote, "An important G7 Summit, where I presented India's perspective at the world stage. Here are highlights."

PM Modi returned to Delhi on Saturday after attending the G7 Summit in Apulia at the invitation of Italian PM Giorgia Meloni. India participated in the G7 Summit as an 'Outreach Country,' joining the seven member countries (US, UK, Canada, Germany, Italy, Japan, France) and the European Union. This was India's 11th participation and PM Modi's fifth consecutive participation in the G7 Summit.

During the summit, PM Modi reiterated India's commitment to advocating for the well-being of the Global South and emphasized the importance of Africa in global affairs. He highlighted India's strong ties with Africa, noting the moment when the African Union became a permanent member of the G20 during India's presidency.

PM Modi addressed the G7 Outreach Session on AI and Energy, Africa, and the Mediterranean, discussing the transformative role of technology in human progress. He emphasized the importance of cybersecurity in the era of technology and spoke about India's efforts in leveraging AI for development, ensuring transparency, security, accessibility, and responsibility.

On the energy front, PM Modi outlined India's approach focusing on availability, accessibility, affordability, and acceptability. He reaffirmed India's commitment to fulfilling its Climate Change Conference of the Parties (CoP) commitments ahead of schedule and highlighted India's efforts to transition towards a sustainable, green era based on the principles of Mission LiFE.

PM Modi also highlighted the "Ek Ped Ma Ke Naam" campaign aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and making the planet more habitable for future generations.

"After concluding my visit to Italy, I had a very productive day at the G7 Summit in Apulia. Interacted with world leaders and discussed various subjects. Together, we aim to create impactful solutions that benefit the global community and create a better world for future generations," PM Modi wrote on his social media platform.

"I thank the people and government of Italy for their warm hospitality," he added.

Italy, as India's fourth-largest trading partner in the European Union with bilateral trade currently at USD 15 billion, invited PM Modi for the G7 Summit Outreach Sessions.
