Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to announce a significant financial boost for Self-Help Groups (SHGs) across India by releasing a Rs.2,500 crore Revolving Fund. This initiative aims to benefit approximately 48 lakh members from 4.3 lakh SHGs.

On August 25, PM Modi will visit Jalgaon in Maharashtra and Jodhpur in Rajasthan. The day's events are scheduled to start at around 11:15 AM with the Lakhpati Didi Sammelan in Jalgaon. Later, at about 4:30 PM, he will attend the conclusion of the Rajasthan High Court's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in Jodhpur.

During the Jalgaon event, PM Modi will honor 11 lakh new "Lakhpati Didis" who have achieved this status during the NDA Government’s third term. He will also disburse bank loans worth Rs.5,000 crore to support 25.8 lakh members from 2.35 lakh SHGs. Since the launch of the Lakhpati Didi Yojana, one crore women have been empowered, with a goal of reaching three crore.

In Jodhpur, PM Modi will be the Chief Guest at the final ceremony of the Rajasthan High Court’s Platinum Jubilee. He will also inaugurate the Rajasthan High Court Museum as part of the celebrations.

Earlier, Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced that the program will connect people from around 30,000 locations across 34 states and union territories, including state capitals and district headquarters, through virtual means.

He highlighted that Lakhpati Didis are women who earn ₹1 lakh or more annually. These women have not only lifted their families out of poverty but are also serving as role models in their communities, according to the Union Minister.

“The Rural Development Ministry has already empowered 1 crore Lakhpati Didis. Our new goal is to increase this number to 3 crore in the next three years. It is inspiring to see that one of these community leaders has already helped create 95 Lakhpati Didis,” Shivraj Singh Chouhan stated.

He elaborated on the Ministry’s structured approach to help SHG families achieve an annual income of ₹1 lakh or more. This includes training National Resource Persons and developing Master Trainers in each state.

These Master Trainers then educate Community Resource Persons on business planning, financing, and the convergence process. The cadre of 3 lakh Community Resource Persons, who are specially trained in business planning and SHG member skills, are making significant contributions in this effort, the minister added.
