BINA: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a significant journey to Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh on September 14th, where he will inaugurate an array of substantial projects within these states. According to an official statement from his office, PM Modi is scheduled to initiate projects valued at an astonishing sum of over Rs. 50,700 crore in Madhya Pradesh, commencing from an event in Bina.

These transformative projects encompass the establishment of a petrochemical complex at the Bina refinery and the introduction of ten novel industrial ventures spanning across the state. Subsequently, the Prime Minister will traverse to the neighboring Chhattisgarh, where he will dedicate pivotal rail sector initiatives, collectively valued at around Rs. 6,350 crore.

Both Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are gearing up for assembly elections slated for November-December, adding political significance to the Prime Minister's visit. During the program, he will ceremoniously lay the foundation stones for critical care blocks in nine districts of Chhattisgarh and disseminate one lakh sickle cell counseling cards.

The statement further underlines the profound impact of these new projects on Madhya Pradesh's industrial landscape. The state-of-the-art Bina refinery, a project of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited with an estimated cost of about Rs. 49,000 crore, is poised to manufacture approximately 1,200 Kilo-Tonnes Per Annum (KTPA) of ethylene and propylene, both pivotal components for sectors such as textiles, packaging, and pharmaceuticals. This endeavor aligns with the Prime Minister's vision of 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' and will substantially reduce the country's import reliance while catalyzing the growth of downstream industries within the petroleum sector.

The mega project is also anticipated to generate a significant number of employment opportunities, fostering the development of ancillary industries. Simultaneously, PM Modi will inaugurate ten other projects during the program, including a power and renewable energy manufacturing zone in Narmadapuram district, two IT parks in Indore, a colossal industrial park in Ratlam, and six fresh industrial zones scattered across Madhya Pradesh.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister's unwavering commitment to enhancing nationwide connectivity will receive a substantial boost through the inauguration of crucial rail sector undertakings in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh. These projects comprise the Chhattisgarh East Rail Project Phase-I, the third rail line connecting Champa to Jamga, the third rail line between Pendra Road and Anuppur, and the MGR (Merry-Go-Round) system linking the Talaipalli Coal Mine to the NTPC Lara Super Thermal Power Station (STPS).

The rail projects are expected to invigorate socioeconomic development by facilitating the movement of both passengers and freight traffic within the region. The Chhattisgarh East Rail Project Phase-I, an integral part of the ambitious PM Gati Shakti-National Master Plan for multi-modal connectivity, entails a 124.8 km rail line extending from Kharsia to Dharamjaygarh, including a spur line to Gare-Pelma and three feeder lines connecting Chhal, Baroud, Durgapur, and other coal mines. Constructed at an estimated cost of approximately Rs. 3,055 crore, this rail line is equipped with electrified broad gauge level crossings and a partially double line with passenger amenities, greatly enhancing rail connectivity for coal transportation from Mand-Raigarh coalfields situated in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh.

In a laudable effort to address the health challenges posed by sickle cell disease, especially among the tribal population, PM Modi will distribute one lakh sickle cell counseling cards to the screened population. This initiative falls under the National Sickle Cell Anaemia Elimination Mission (NSAEM), which the Prime Minister inaugurated in July 2023 in Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh.
