Ahmedabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mother Heeraben Modi has been hospitalised after her health deteriorated on Tuesday night.

Heeraben Modi, who turned 99 this year in June, has been admitted to a hospital in Ahmedabad.  As per the statement from UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology & Research Centre, it comes to know that her condition is stable.  However, The hospital has not shared any other piece of information.

The Ahmedabad hospital where Heeraben is being treated said her condition is improving.  The news comes days after the PM's brother Prahlad and his family were involved in a car accident in Karnataka. 

Darshanaben Vaghela and Kaushik Jain, two Gujarati members of the BJP, have reachedthe hospital.

The Prime Minister, who has frequently discussed his relationship with his mother, recently paid her a visit while he was in Gujarat for the just concluded Assembly elections. Images of the Prime Minister chatting and having tea with Heeraben Modi had then emerged on social media.

The Prime Minister had also visited her on her 99th birthday in June. To mark her centenary entry, the Prime Minister had also written an emotional blog titled 'Mother'.
