WASHINGTON: The decision taken by the Indian government on Jammu and Kashmir has shocked Pakistan. Pakistan has been continuously urging countries around the world to intervene in the matter. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump spoke late Monday night. Prime Minister Modi held talks with Donald Trump on relations between the two countries and regional issues.

Prime Minister Modi made it clear to Donald Trump that Pakistan must give up the path of terrorism. More importantly, Pakistan's PM Imran Khan also spoke to Donald Trump after discussing PM Modi's phone call. On Monday night, Prime Minister Modi spoke to Donald Trump, the 30-minute-long dialogue between the two leaders, to discuss India-US bilateral relations. Prime Minister Modi also raised the issue of regional peace during the visit.

Without naming Pakistan, PM Modi said that "provocative rhetoric" against India by some leaders is not beneficial to regional peace. Not only that, he stressed on creating an environment free from terror and violence, saying that there should be no place for cross-border terrorism in such an environment. In the subsequent talks between Trump and Imran, the US President has also advised the Pak PM to keep up with the aggressive attitude and refrain from making violent statements against India.
