Thimphu: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on his first visit to Bhutan for the second consecutive time after coming back to the power. As part of his two-day visit, PM Modi will reach Bhutan on August 17. During the two-day visit, the two nations will sign 10 MOUs (Memorandum of Understanding) between the two nations. In addition to signing 10 agreements, According to India's Ambassador to Bhutan Ruchira Kamboj, PM Modi will also inaugurate five projects.
He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Bhutan could be seen as an ongoing effort to strengthen the partnership between the two countries. India's Ambassador to Thimfu Ruchira Kamboj said that the achievements made during PM Modi's visit are the result of the hard work made during Prime Minister Modi's last five-year tenure. India's Ambassador to Thimfu said Bhutan has wholeheartedly supported India's candidature for permanent membership of the UN Security Council. He said Bhutan has termed India's absence in the UN Security Council as an anomaly and said that India should be a permanent member of the Security Council.
Just before PM Modi's visit, Bhutanese Prime Minister Dr. L. Shering shared a post on social media. The Bhutanese PM praised his Indian counterpart PM Modi's book 'Egjam Warriors'. Dr. Shering termed PM Modi as a simple and easy person and said he did not hesitate to take tough decisions to take the country forward.
