PM Modi expresses sorrow over Bhiwandi building accident

New Delhi: 10 people, including 7 children, lost their lives due to the collapse of a three-storey building in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra. 20 people have been safely evacuated by the rescue team. On this incident, PM Modi has expressed condolences through Twitter. On receiving the news of the accident, PM Modi tweeted, "I am very sad to hear about the building collapse in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra. My heart goes out to the bereaved families and I wish the injured get well soon. A rescue operation is going on and all possible assistance is being provided to the affected".

Significantly, after getting information about the incident, two teams of NDRF left for rescue operations. According to the information, the building was in a dilapidated condition. At 3.45 am on Monday morning, the building fell down with full vigour. As soon as the building collapsed, there was a loud noise at the sight of the incident. Hearing the commotion, the people living nearby ran towards the building and due to their efforts, about 20 people were safely taken out of the rubble.

It is feared that many people are trapped in the rubble of the building. Along with NDRF, police administration teams are also involved in relief work. According to the information given by the police, 24 families lived in this Jilani Building, built-in Patel Compound.
