New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi on Thursday launched the Bengaluru Tech Summit 2020 (BTS 2020) through video conferencing. On this occasion, PM Modi said that we launched Digital India 5 years ago. Today, I am happy to say that Digital India is no longer seen as any regular government initiative.

PM Narendra Modi said that Digital India has become a new way of life. Especially for the poor, who were marginalized for the government. A more human-centric approach to development has been seen in our nation, thanks to Digital India. The use of technology on such a large scale has brought many changes in the lives of our citizens. Everyone got the benefit. PM Narendra Modi further said that through technology we have carried forward human dignity. Millions of farmers get monetary help in one click.

He said that it was the technology during the lockdown implemented across the country, which ensured that the poor of the country get proper and prompt help. There are some similarities in the scale of this relief. He said that when it comes to technology, the way forward lies in learning and growing together. Inspired by that perspective, many incubation centres are opening in India. In the last few years, the culture of hackathons has been organized in India. I have also participated in some of them.
