Srinagar: PM Narendra Modi will launch the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) Health Scheme on Saturday. Under this scheme, more than 1 crore citizens of Jammu and Kashmir will get the benefit of health insurance. Under this scheme, citizens of Jammu and Kashmir will get the facility of insurance under portability in 24,148 hospitals across the country.

Under this scheme, the people of Jammu and Kashmir will be able to get health cover up to 5 lakh rupees. This program of PM Modi will be through video conferencing. Under this scheme, all individuals and communities in Jammu and Kashmir will be able to get quality and affordable essential health services. Jammu and Kashmir Governor Manoj Sinha will also be present at the event.

According to Jammu and Kashmir Department of Information and Public Relations, SEHAT scheme means Social Endeavor for Health and Telemedicine. It is a health insurance scheme launched for the union territories. The Public Relations Department has called it a historic moment. People of Jammu and Kashmir will be able to take advantage of this insurance scheme across the country. Hospitals listed under PM-JAY scheme will also provide services under this scheme. In 2018 the Modi government started this scheme. Under this, health insurance of Rs. 5 lakhs is provided annually to the poor people.
