New Delhi: On the third day of Navratri, PM Narendra Modi on Saturday sought the blessings of Goddess Chandraghanta and expressed hope that her blessings would defeat all negative energies from the lives of her devotees. PM Modi tweeted, 'Bowing at the feet of Mother Chandraghanta. May Goddess Chandraghanta bless all her devotees with victory over negative energies.' PM Modi has also shared praise stuti related to Mata Chandraghanta.

Earlier, on the first day of Navratri, PM Modi had wished that the festival bring strength, good health and prosperity to everyone's life. On the third day of Navratri, Mother Chandraghanta, the third form of Mother Durga, is worshipped. Autumn is customary to worship Goddess Durga and her nine forms in the festival of Navratri. The festival is celebrated in different ways across the country.

 

The festival of Navratri has started on 7th October. In the next nine days, devotees worship Goddess Durga and also keep fasts. Also known as Sharad Navratri, this occasion is considered to be a symbol of the victory of Goddess Durga over the demon Mahishasura, which symbolizes the victory of good over evil. The 10th day of Sharad Navratri is celebrated as Dussehra or Vijayadashmi. The festival of Navratri will be celebrated from October 7 to October 15. This year Ashtami is on October 13 while Dashmi is on October 15.
