The farmers' issue is gaining traction as farmers from Punjab and Haryana are marching towards Delhi demanding guaranteed minimum support prices (MSP) for their crops. With over 20,000 farmers gathering, security forces have sealed the borders of Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. It should be noted that the government consistently works for the welfare of farmers. Initiatives have been launched to increase farmers' income and provide them assistance through various government schemes. Let's delve into the details of these schemes:

Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana (PMKSY):
This scheme, initiated by the central government, aims to address the significant issue of irrigation. Under this scheme, the goal is to provide water to every field. The government has decided to invest in infrastructure, such as source creation, distribution, field application, and development practices, to ensure more crop per drop of water.

Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY):
The central government has launched the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana to provide economic assistance to farmers in case of crop loss. The aim is to bring farmers under one umbrella for this insurance scheme. The government has a vision and mission for this scheme, providing financial support in case of crop damage due to natural calamities, pest attacks, or drought under the insurance scheme.

Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY):
Under this scheme by the central government, financial assistance of Rs. 50,000 per hectare is provided to farmers. Support is also provided for organic farming every three years, including assistance for processes like certification, labeling, packaging, and transportation. The government aids farmers economically and encourages organic farming.

Kisan Credit Card:
The Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme was initiated by the central government in 1998 to provide adequate credit for farming or agricultural expenses. Under this scheme, Indian farmers receive assistance in the form of a 4% annual subsidized rate on agricultural loans as government subsidy. So far, 2.5 crore farmers have benefited from this scheme.

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-Kisan):
The PM-Kisan scheme, launched by the central government, provides farmers with an annual amount of Rs. 6,000. Any farmer in the country can apply for this scheme. The amount is distributed in three installments, given at four-month intervals. Applications for this scheme can be made through the official website.

In conclusion, these government schemes aim to uplift the agricultural sector and provide support to farmers across the country. Through initiatives like PMKSY, PMFBY, PKVY, KCC, and PM-Kisan, the government is working towards the betterment of farmers' lives and the enhancement of agricultural productivity.
