NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Maharashtra today, where he will lay the foundation stone for the Jagatguru Shrisant Tukaram Maharaj Temple in Dehu. The PM will also inaugurate the Jal Bhushan Building, and the Gallery of Revolutionaries at Raj Bhawan in Mumbai today.

The Prime Minister will thereafter attend the Dwishatabdi Mahotsav of Mumbai Samachar at Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai at roughly 6 p.m., according to the Prime Minister's office.

In Dehu, Pune, the Prime Minister will dedicate the Jagatguru Shrisant Tukaram Maharaj Temple. Sant Tukaram was a Warkari saint and poet who was well-known for his Abhanga devotional poetry and community-oriented worship through Kirtans. He was a Dehu resident. After his death, a Shila Mandir was created, but it was not formally constituted as a Temple. It has been restored in stone masonry and includes 36 peaks, as well as a Sant Tukaram deity.

The Jal Bhushan Building and Gallery of Revolutionaries will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Raj Bhawan in Mumbai. Since 1885, Jal Bhushan has served as the official house of Maharashtra's Governor. It was dismantled when its time came to an end, and a new structure was built in its place. The President of India laid the foundation stone for the new structure in August of this year.
