New Delhi: The criticism of comments made by PM Narendra Modi at an all-party meeting in the context of the clash in the Galwan Valley has been termed as a mischievous interpretation by the PMO on Saturday. Modi said in this meeting that no one has entered Indian territory nor any military outpost has been captured. The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said in a statement that Modi's comments at the meeting on Friday were focused on the events of June 15 in the Galwan Valley in which 20 Indian soldiers were martyred.

These comments of PM, that there is no Chinese presence on the Line of Actual Control (LAC), was related to the situation arising out of the result of the bravery of our armed forces.' Questioning Modi's comments, several experts from the Congress and strategic affairs had asked where the Indian soldiers lost their lives if the Chinese Army had not encroached into the Galwan Valley. He also questioned whether Modi has given a clean chit to China over the deadlock.

The PMO has said, 'The sacrifice of our soldiers of the 16 Bihar Regiment thwarted the Chinese side's attempt to build a structure and on that day also foiled any attempt to encroach on this point of the LAC.' The statement said, "Prime Minister said who attempted to encroach on our land, the brave sons of the country gave a befitting reply. In essence, the characteristics and values of our armed forces are contained."
