Amritsar: Truck driver Kasim Khan has confessed to the death of Punjabi actor Deep Sidhu in an accident on Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway two days ago. After the arrest, when Qasim was interrogated by the police of Kharkhoda police station, Sonipat, his answer was that 'he had made a mistake'. Right now, till any new disclosure is made, the police will proceed by adding the link of the case only after considering Qasim responsible for the death of Deep Sidhu. The police will try to take Qasim on remand by presenting him in the court on Friday afternoon.

Deep Sidhu, an accused in the Red Fort violence, was travelling from Delhi to Punjab via KMP in a Scorpio with his girlfriend Reena Roy alias Rajwinder Kaur on the evening of February 15. His car rammed into a trolley from behind near Pipli toll in Kharkhauda in Sonipat. Deep was killed in this tragic accident, while Reena was injured. The trolley driver fled the spot after the accident. Superintendent of Police Sonipat Rahul Sharma had formed police teams to arrest the absconding trolley driver. Kharkhauda police arrested the absconding driver Qasim Khan, a resident of village Singara, District Nuh, on Thursday evening.

SHO of Thana Kharkhauda Jaspal Singh said that Qasim Khan has confessed to his crime. He said that he had suddenly applied the brakes of the trolley, which hit Deep Sidhu's car which was coming behind. After the accident, he was very scared and ran away from the spot. Qasim Khan came to know the next day that the young man who lost his life after being hit by his car was not an ordinary young man, while Deep Sidhu was the famous actor of Punjabi films. After this, Qasim has had a big regret over his death.
