Lucknow: In the cabinet meeting of the Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh, the expansion of the police commissioner system has got the green signal. Under which approval has been given to implement the Police Commissioner system in Prayagraj, Agra and Ghaziabad of the state. Police commissioners will be posted in these three districts. 

Let us inform you that, on January 13, 2020, the police commissionerate system was first implemented in Lucknow and Noida. A total of one and a half dozen proposals have been passed in the recent cabinet meeting. Let us tell you that the police commissionerate system has been implemented in 7 metropolitan cities of Uttar Pradesh. Sujit Pandey in Lucknow and Alok Singh in Noida were appointed as the first police commissioners. In the second phase on 26 March 2021, the Police Commissioner system was implemented in Kanpur and Varanasi. Vijay Singh Meena in Kanpur and A Satish Ganesh in Varanasi were appointed police commissioners. 

Let us tell you that the Yogi government's preparations were already on to set up a Police Commissionerate in Ghaziabad, Agra, Prayagraj. In this regard, the Director General of Police (DGP) had also sent a proposal to the Home Department. With the formation of Police Commissionerates in these three cities, the authority of the top police officer of the district will increase further.
