Police rescued eight women, arrested five men from a bar

Mangaluru: The Barke police, on Monday, March 25 evening, raided a ladies’ bar in Saibeen Complex and rescued around eight women being forced to perform obscene dances. Golden Bar is the place where the raid was conducted. It is situated at Saibeen complex in Lalbagh. Sandeep Patil, City Commissioner of Police, told DH that the police, acting on a specific complaint, raided the Golden Gate Bar in Saibeen Complex.

According to police sources, the raid was conducted on Golden Gate Bar in Saibeen Complex based on a complaint from the public about obscene dancing at a ladies' bar. During the raid, police rescued eight women, who had been dancing in an obscene manner, and detained five men who were forcing the women to dance, for questioning. A case was registered at Barke Police Station and investigations are on. 

The operation was conducted in the leadership of police commissioner Sandeep Patil after receiving information about the dances at the bar. Eight women who were in the bar were also rescued by the police. It can be noted that Commissioner of Police Sandeep Patil has been taking stringent action against gambling, prostitution racket and dance bars among others. It can be also noted that the police raided the district jail and seized weapons from within the jail, under Patil's direction.
