Kerela: FIR lodged for poster of 'Jai Shri Ram' put in Palakkad Municipality office

Kochi: The uproar has started on the 'Jai Shri Ram' banner on behalf of Bharatiya Janata Party workers at Palakkad Municipality office in Kerala. The police have registered an FIR based on the complaint of the Municipal Secretary, the police say that the workers were celebrating after the BJP's victory in the municipality on Wednesday evening.

According to the police, during the celebrations, some activists climbed over the Palakkad Municipality building and hanged the banner of PM Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah. On the other hand, some activists put up another banner with 'Jai Shri Ram' written on it. Police says that on the basis of the complaint of the Municipal Secretary, we have registered an FIR under U/S 153 IPC last night. The investigation has started and we are looking for people who are involved in it.

This time the BJP has performed well in the local body elections in Kerala. BJP has won in two municipalities including Pallakad municipality and about two dozen gram panchayats. In the 2015 elections, BJP won 14 Gram Panchayats including Pallakad Municipality.
