New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his warm wishes on Engineers Day, acknowledging the unwavering commitment of professionals in this field as the bedrock of the nation's progress throughout the years.
PM Modi expressed his reverence for one of India's eminent civil engineers, M Visvesvaraya, whose birth anniversary is celebrated as 'Engineers Day,' via his official social media platform 'X.'
"Sending my greetings to the diligent engineers on this #EngineersDay! Their inventive acumen and ceaseless dedication have been instrumental in propelling our nation's advancement. From awe-inspiring infrastructure to groundbreaking technological innovations, their contributions leave an indelible mark on every facet of our lives," shared PM Modi on 'X.'
Describing him as a forward-thinking engineer and statesman, PM Modi highlighted that Sir M Visvesvaraya continues to serve as an inspiration for generations, encouraging them to innovate and serve the nation.
"On #EngineersDay, we pay tribute to Sir M Visvesvaraya, a visionary engineer and statesman. His legacy continues to ignite the spark of innovation and patriotic service in generations to come. Here are glimpses from Chikkaballapura, where I paid my respects during my visit earlier this year," Modi added in another post.
Born on September 15, 1861, in Muddenahalli near Chikkaballapur, Visvesvaraya is regarded as one of the foremost nation-builders in India's history.
He was the mastermind behind numerous iconic landmarks that have come to define and characterize modern India over the years.
In addition to his architectural contributions, he served as the 19th Dewan of Mysuru, formerly known as Mysore, from 1912 to 1918.
