New Delhi: Prashant Bhushan, who was found guilty in the Contempt of Supreme Court, has the last day to apologize. The Supreme Court held Prashant Bhushan guilty of contempt and orders to apologise by August 24. If Prashant Bhushan submits the apology, the top court can hear it on August 25.

The top court has found lawyer Prashant Bhushan guilty of contempt. In this case, he can be imprisoned for a maximum of six months or fined or both. Apart from this, the top court can also give a symbolic punishment. In a tweet made on 27 June, Prashant Bhushan described the 4 former Chief Justice as part of the murder of democracy. On 29 June, he tweeted a picture of the current Chief Justice SA Bobde sitting on a bike that he has closed the doors of the Supreme Court to the common people. The BJP leader himself is riding a 50 lakh motorcycle.

Later, while clarifying in the court, Prashant Bhushan admitted that without fully confirming the facts, he commented on the picture. But at the same time, it also said that his feeling was not wrong. He is worried about justice to the common people. Regarding the tweet made on 4 former Chief Justices, he had clarified that in the last few years, the apex court has failed to fulfil the responsibility which is expected on many occasions. On August 14, the court rejected Prashant Bhushan's explanation and found him guilty of contempt.
