New Delhi: Poll strategist Prashant Kishor had met Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi once again on Monday evening. This was PK's second meeting with Sonia Gandhi in the last three days. Apart from Sonia Gandhi, the party's national general secretaries Priyanka Gandhi, KC Venugopal, Ambika Soni, Jairam Ramesh, P Chidambaram and Randeep Surjewala were also present on the occasion. However, Rahul Gandhi remained absent from this meeting. However, the reason for Rahul's absence is yet to be revealed. Party sources said the meeting deliberated on congress' preparedness and strategy for assembly elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh.

In fact, elections are going to be held in 6 major states of the country within the coming one and a half years. There are elections in Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat at the end of this year. After this, assembly elections will be held in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka and Chhattisgarh next year. Two of these states have Congress governments. In such a situation, there is a double challenge ahead of them. On the one hand, they have to save their government in two states, on the other hand, they have to achieve something. In such a situation, the Congress high command wants to overhaul the party so that it can face the BJP in the assembly elections. That is why the churning in the party continues unabated.

However, in the meantime, there is also stirring in the party about what responsibility should PK be given in Congress. He should be inducted as an advisor or made a leader by giving him a post. It is being said that most Congress leaders want Prashant Kishor to be inducted as a leader instead of being given the status of an advisor. Let us know that Prashant Kishor had also given a presentation to the Congress leadership last week, in which he had asked to focus on 370 Lok Sabha seats.
