President Kovind addresses first World Youth Conference; said these things!

New Delhi: A conference was held in Delhi on behalf of Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Peace and Sustainable Development Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development and UNESCO. The theme of the conference was 'kindness'. The event was presided over by the country's President Ram Nath Kovind.

The President addressed the youth of 27 countries at the first youth conference on the subject. The President called for inculcating a sense of empathy, goodwill, and awareness among the youth. So that they change themselves and create an atmosphere of lasting peace in the human communities.

Ram Vilas Paswan says this on the reservation

The President said, the values of Mahatma Gandhi are very relevant for all ages. He taught us that the purpose of our actions should be to strengthen the prestige and destiny of others. Gandhiji's views are also very relevant in the current era of issues like peace and tolerance, terrorism and climate change.

The President said that after a few weeks on 2nd October, we will celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation. Gandhiji was born in India but is concerned with the whole of humanity.

The President said that for me he is an experimental Gandhi beyond the boundaries of class and race. Mahatma Gandhi gave a message of fighting terror by explaining the meaning of freedom and also taught the lesson of peace. Bapu's message is reflected in the policies, political thinking, public functioning of the Government of India.

Most of the violence and insurgency that is taking place all over the world today is based on prejudice. They force us to see the world, we are people versus those people. Mahatma Gandhi's message is far more relevant today.
