President of India, PM Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi pay tribute to Jallianwala Bagh Massacre

The Year 2019 marks the Centenary of the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre, also known as the Amritsar Massacre that occurred on April 13, 1919. Here it is to be noted that Congress President Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to pay floral tributes at the Jallianwala Bagh Memorial in Amritsar today.it is worth mention here that British High Commissioner to India Sir Dominic Asquith also laid a wreath at the Jallianwala Bagh Memorial.

Here it is to be noted that the Election Commission of India (ECI) has said the voter turnout during the first phase of the seven-phase elections was recorded at 69.43 per cent in the 91 Lok Sabha seats spread across 18 states and to be noted that two Union Territories where polling took place on Thursday. In 2014, Lok Sabha elections, the final voter turnout was 66.44 per cent.

 

PM Narendra Modi on Jallianwala Bagh Centenary tweets as  "Their valour and sacrifice will never be forgotten. Their memory inspires us to work even harder to build an India they would be proud of,".

In ahead of it Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to hold two rallies in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka each to campaign for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).To be noted that here before that to visit in south india Pm visit Amritsar and than He will address rallies in Theni and Ramanathapuram in Tamil Nadu. In Karnataka, PM Modi will address people of Mangalore and Bengaluru. However it is worth mention here that Congress chief Rahul Gandhi will also address three public meetings in Karnataka today.
