New Delhi: On the occasion of former President Pranab Mukherjee's birth anniversary, President Ram Nath Kovind paid floral homage to him at the Raj Bhavan in Uttarakhand on Saturday.

The Rashtrapati Bhavan Twitter account tweeted, "President Ram Nath Kovind paid floral tributes to Shri Pranab Mukherjee, former President of India, on his birthday at Raj Bhavan, Uttarakhand." On the occasion of Mukherjee's birthday, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu described him as an erudite statesman, a towering intellectual, and a consensus builder.

Several members of the Union Cabinet also paid respect to the former President. Dr. Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister, also tweeted, "On the occasion of Shri Pranab Mukherjee's birth anniversary, we remember the former President of India, Bharat Ratna, Shri Pranab Mukherjee ji.
