Visakhapatnam: The President's Fleet Review, an awe-inspiring and much-anticipated event, isheld in Visakhapatnam today, February 21, 2022.

President Ram Nath Kovind, who is also the Armed Forces' Supreme Commander, reviewed the Naval Fleet, which consists of over 60 ships and submarines, as well as 55 aircraft. This will be the twelfth Fleet Review and is significant because it was held on the 75th anniversary of India's independence, which is being commemorated across the country as 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav'.

The President's Yacht, INS Sumitra, is an indigenously built Naval Offshore Patrol Vessel that will lead the Presidential Column. The yacht will be identified by the Ashoka Emblem on her port side and the President's Standard affixed to the mast.

Following a Ceremonial Guard of Honour and a 21-gun salute, the President boarded the Presidential Yacht INS Sumitra, which would sail past 44 ships anchored off Visakhapatnam. Further, the President to review the Indian Naval Air Arm during a fly-past by several helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft. The review will conclude with a march past the Presidential Yacht by a mobile column of warships and submarines.

The President then released a commemorative First Day Cover and stamp in the presence of Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh and Minister of State for Communication Devusinh J Chauhan.
