New Delhi: On the occasion of Public Services Day on Thursday, April 21, India President Ram Nath Kovind sent wishes to civil officials, expressing that they had contributed to India's rise as a great nation.
"On Civil Services Day, I send my best wishes to all civil servants, past and present. They have aided India's rise to prominence as a global power. I implore them to continue to serve India with zeal and, as Sardar Patel had urged, with a spirit of public service, tweeted the Rashtrapati Bhavan today on behalf of the President.
On the occasion of Civil Services Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also wished all civil servants. "On the occasion of Civil Services Day, best wishes to all civil servants. They are working persistently in many terrains and sectors to assist our folks and advance national prosperity. Every year on April 21, National Civil Service Day is honoured. The Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and the country's central Group A and Group B services make up India's civil service. On April 21, 1947, the inaugural National Civil Service Day was observed. Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel launched the day.
