President Trump prepares to establish merit-based immigration system in US

Washington: US President Donald Trump is considering a merit-based immigration system. The White House issued a statement giving information in this regard. This White House statement comes after an interview given by Donald Trump to a news channel, in which the US President had talked about creating an immigration system based on merit.

Speaking to the correspondent, the US president said that the 'Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals' (DACA) program would include a framework for granting citizenship to recipients. Answering a question, the US President said that his action on DACA is going to be part of a much larger bill on immigration. Donald Trump said that this is a very big bill and a very good bill. Its special feature is that it will be merit based and will also include DACA. He said that I think people will be happy after knowing about it. DACA is a kind of administrative concession. Under which, there is protection from extradition of eligible migrants who were children at the time of arrival in America.

Donald Trump's move has resulted in political earthquake in America. Senator Ted Cruz called the move a mistake. Donald Trump said that we will have a path to citizenship and the new bill will put aspects of DACA.
