PATNA: The Presidential candidate of the joint opposition, Yashwant Sinha, is visiting Patna today to campaign for the Presidential poll scheduled on Monday, July 18.

At 3 p.m., an assembly of the opposition parties, including the RJD, CPI, CPI-M, and CPI (ML), will take place in a local hotel. The Left parties and Tejashwi Yadav, the head of the RJD, have already extended their supports to Sinha.

A few days ago, Sinha met RJD leader Lalu Prasad in AIIMS Delhi, where the latter is receiving medical care.  The veteran leader is running against Draupadi Murmu, a tribal chief from Odhisha and a former governor of Sinha's home state, Jharkhand, for the NDA nomination.

The eligible voters for the presidential election are the Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, and Vidhan Sabha members. There are 243 MLAs and 56 MPs that will vote in Bihar. One MP has a vote worth of 700, while one MLA has a vote worth of 173. Bihar has a total of 81,239 votes.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has 23 Lok Sabha MPs and 77 MLAs in the state. The total vote value of BJP in Bihar is 28,721. Janata Dal-U has 22,485 vote value with 47 MLAs and 16 Lok Sabha MPs,  Congress has 4,687 vote value with 19 MLAs, RJD has 17,340 vote value with 80 MLAs, the Left parties have 2,768 vote value with 16 MLAs, whereas the AIMIM has 173 vote values with one MLA in Bihar.
