New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given Diwali bonanza to central universities and teachers. A decision has been taken in this gaze in the Union Cabinet meeting apprehended on Wednesday, under the chairmanship of PM Modi. After this decision of the government, the salaries of teachers in Central Universities will raised from Rs. 10,400 to Rs. 49,800. After the Cabinet conference, Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar said that the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission have been permitted in the Cabinet meeting.

His decision of the government will help 7.58 lakh teachers and corresponding academic staff of colleges and universities funded by UGC and Union Human Resource Development. Apart from this, 329 universities and 12,912 colleges from the State Governments will also take benefit from this decision. He said that 213 institutions, government assisted 329 state institutions and 12,912 colleges will also be benefited from the decision of the cabinet.

Union Minister Javadekar said that the teachers will obtain the profit of the seventh pay-out from January 1, 2016. He said that 119 institutions like IIT, IRIM, and Triple IRE will also get a hold the benefit of the revised pay package. With this decision, central financial liability yearly will be around Rs. 9800 crores. This modification will raise the salary of teachers from Rs. 10,400 to Rs. 49,800. The salary of teachers will fluctuate from 22% to 28% in different categories.
