Auckland: Indian team opener Prithvi Shaw, who failed in the first Test against New Zealand, has returned in the second Test. In the second and final match of the Test series being played in Christchurch, Prithvi Shaw finally got a half-century off the bat. Prithvi Shaw played a brilliant innings of 54 runs in 64 balls. Shaw hit eight fours and a six in his innings. Earlier, in the first Test played in Wellington, Prithvi Shaw scored 16 runs in the first innings, while in the second innings he returned to the pavilion after scoring 14 runs.

There was a demand to replace Shubman Gill in the second Test in place of Prithvi Shaw, but Prithvi Shaw was retained in the playing XI, after which he gave a half-century. In the Christchurch Test match, Prithvi Shaw has made a big record in his half-century. Prithvi Shaw has become the second-youngest player from India to score a half-century in Test matches on New Zealand soil.

In this list, his compatriot and former great batsman Sachin Tendulkar is ahead of Prithvi Shaw. Sachin Tendulkar had scored a Test half-century in the Napier Test in 1990 at the age of 16 years and 291 days. Talking about Prithvi Shaw, he has done this feat at the age of 20 years 112 days. At number three is Atul Vasan, who in the Auckland Test at the age of 21 years and 336 days in 1990, got fit.
