Bhopal: School Education Department has extended the time to apply for renewal of recognition of private schools. Three months' deferment has been granted. Due to this, all the private schools affiliated to the Board of Secondary Education in Madhya Pradesh will be able to apply online for renewal of accreditation by March 31. It is being told that private school operators can deposit the Recognition Renewal Fee in a lump sum or in three instalments by 31 December 2021.

Earlier the last date for uploading online application was fixed on 31 December 2020 but now it has been extended. The decision to extend the date has been taken by the state government keeping in mind the Covid-19 transition and student interest. As per the new decision, the recognition renewal has been validated till 31 March 2022, providing an exemption from the procedure prevailing as per the MP Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools Accreditation Rules, 2017. This means that the recognition of private schools without inspection has been extended for one year.

Private school operators were appealing for this for quite some time. It is being said that the non-government schools which had paid applications as per the earlier instructions and their recognition has been renewed. On the other hand, the non-government schools whose operators have submitted the fee along with applying in the prescribed format, but their recognition has not been renewed, they will not have to deposit the fee again.
