Priyanka Chopra is one of the most loved actresses in Bollywood. She is now representing India on international platforms. She is the global UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for child rights. The actress is very active and related to the issues of Child Rights. Recently the actress visited Kenya and shared a heart-wrenching video from her visit to Kenya, highlighting the water and hunger crisis looming large in the nation.
The actress in a recent interview was questioned about her plans to visit Kenya again and what she had learned during her stay. The actress replied "Yes, I hope and I definitely want to come back. I hope it will be under better circumstances. What I have learnt is that through the most difficult times human beings have incredible resilience, human beings have kindness, human beings have warmth. What I especially saw when I went to the Ghana region was that it was very difficult for me especially as a new mother to see so many children suffering the way they were."
Priyanka further added, "I cannot imagine if my child was crying out of hunger for days and days what it would do to my mental state. To see those women standing by their children and not eating for days to make sure their children eat just goes to show that there is so much strength in human beings and especially in women. That's something I'm taking back with me as an inspiration. I hope to come back to Kenya under better circumstances."
The actress earlier sharing the video wrote, “Children are starving to death and millions are on the brink of starvation. This is the face of the climate crisis, and here in Kenya it’s happening right now. But, there is hope and there are solutions. Over the next few days I’ll be showing @unicef’s immense efforts happening on the ground to save lives.”
