New Delhi: Today is Basant Panchami and thousands of devotees are taking a holy dip in the Ganges on this auspicious occasion. Devotees have gathered at the ghats of Varanasi since morning. At the same time, devotees are reaching from every part of the country to the Ganga bath in Haridwar. On the occasion of Basant Panchami in Bihar and Bengal, Mother Saraswati Puja is done. Today is the day of worship of mothers in pandals and homes.

Meanwhile, Congress Party National General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra remembered her childhood days. Priyanka Gandhi further said, 'On the occasion of Basant Panchami, my grandmother Indira Ji used to put a yellow handkerchief in the pocket of both of us (Priyanka and Rahul) before going to school. I decorate the day of Basant Panchami.'

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra further said, 'Saraswati, Mother Goddess of Knowledge, do well for all, wish you all a very Happy Basant Panchami.'
