NSU leader Akhilesh has also been blacklisted in the university. On the other hand, the NSU claims that Akhilesh Yadav was opposed to the dissolution of the students' union, which has led to the conviction by the university administration.

For information, the Allahabad University Students' Union was occupied by the Samajwadi Party (SP)-backed student organisation. Earlier, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had accused the BJP-led government of suppressing the voice of the press.
