A new directive has been issued in the case of vehicle insurance in the country. According to which, if you do not have pollution certificate of your vehicle, then you cannot get insurance done. Let me tell you, the Insurance Regulatory Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority i.e. IRDA has issued an order saying that if there is no pollution certificate of any vehicle, then in this case the vehicle will not be insured. Which has been specially taken care of in Delhi-NCR.

According to the new decree, the owner must have a PUC certificate while insuring the vehicle, which the owner will have to give to the insurance company along with other documents. Let us tell you, PUCC certificate is that which tells about pollution control standards emanating from vehicles. Pollution standard levels have been fixed for all types of motor vehicles in the country.

If a vehicle successfully succeeds in the PUC test, the vehicle owner is given a certificate. Which tells you what is the pollution level of your vehicle. According to government regulations, all vehicles are required to have a valid PUC certificate. In the event of this not happening, the owner has to pay the challan. The thing to note here is that this is the second time IRDAI has sent a letter to all the CEOs and CMDs of General Insurance companies. Earlier, a similar message was sent on July 2018. However, in this new message, especially the national capital Delhi-NCR has been marked. For information tell us, under the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act 2019, a penalty of Rs 10,000 is imposed for violating PUC norms. However, it is still applicable in few states.
