Puducherry: With 264 new corona patients found in Puducherry, the total number of epidemic cases has reached 1.17 lakh. These new cases have been registered during the last 24 hours till 10 am on Wednesday. The new cases came to light after testing 8,098 samples in the Union Territory. Out of the new cases of infection, 207 cases were registered in Puducherry, 40 in Karaikal, two in Yanam, and 15 in Mahe. The death toll due to the loss of life of another patient due to infection in the last 24 hours has increased to 1749.

Department Director S Mohan Kumar has informed us that 13,08,198 samples have been examined so far. With 254 patients free from infection on Wednesday, the number of people recovering from the disease has gone up to 1,13,146.

The mortality rate and the rate of people recovering are 1.49 percent and 96.50 percent respectively. The number of active cases of covid-19 is 2,354. So far 37,283 health care personnel and 22,888 front personnel in Puducherry have received the covid-19 vaccine.
