Maharashtra: Pune airport has been prepared for airlifting the Corona vaccine across the country. The first batch of vaccine was expected to be sent on Thursday night, but it could not happen. The Serum Institute of India, the manufacturer of the Corona vaccine, has still not received official orders from the central government and is awaiting the same. If the official order is received by the central government, then the corona vaccine will be airlifted in a big way in different cities of the country. The Serum Institute of India is making the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine.
Recently, Suresh Jadhav, executive director of Serum Institute of India, has said, "no official order has been given by government officials yet." He has also said, 'We have 50 million doses ready and we can deliver it on the very day we receive the order.' The company already has large orders from seven institutions around the world, but the Serum Institute of India is committed to fulfill Indian orders on a priority basis.
The first batch of vaccine was expected to be sent from Pune airport on Thursday, but it could not happen. The two airlines companies and airport officials, talking about this, said, "They have been asked to be ready again today or Friday." Now the first batch of vaccine is expected to be sent today. On Thursday, the Airport Authority of India stated that 'Pune Airport is fully geared up and capable of transporting the Covid-19 vaccine'.
