The sudden death of Puneeth Rajkumar, a famous superstar and youth icon of Kannada films, has raised many questions. In the meantime, there is talk of what people going to the gym should take care of in search of good health and body. Puneeth Rajkumar was considered very fit and after his sudden death at the age of 46, everyone is surprised at how a person who looks so fit can suddenly die like this. The same question arose two months ago when actor Sidharth Shukla died on September 2. Sidharth, 40, was a popular television artist and host and looked perfectly fit.

Puneeth was the first to contact the family doctor and popular cardiologist Ramanna Rao after suffering chest pain due to the gym. Rao had told the media, "I checked his pulse and blood pressure and both were normal. I asked him why he was sweating so much and he explained that he normally sweats because of the gym. I checked his ECG and asked him to go to the hospital immediately."

According to Dr Ranganath Nair, Dr. and Cardiologist, the same Vikram Hospital, Puneeth suffered a heart attack on the way and all attempts to save him failed. Ranjan Das, CEO, SAP India, suffered a heart attack and died after returning from the gym 12 years ago. Even after the death of 42-year-old Das, many questions were raised as to how even those in the age group of 40 have started having heart attacks. Dr C.N. Manjunath, Director, Sri Jaydev Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research said, "When people practice weight lifting, muscle stress occurs. Lifting weights puts pressure on the veins. Unlimited exercises are bad for heart valves.'' A 2017 research on 2,000 people in the same SJICSR has shown that cases of heart attack have increased in people in the age group of 25-40 years. Such cases have increased by 22% over the last 5 years.
