The Punjab government is looking very serious for the prevention of coronavirus. To prevent this virus, a committee of ministers has been constituted under the chairmanship of local body minister Brahm Mohindra in the state. The governor of the state has approved this committee. In view of the increasing outbreak of Coronavirus, the Punjab Agricultural University has canceled all farmer fairs to be held in the future.
In a notification issued by the state Chief Secretary Karan Avtar Singh regarding the virus, it has been said that apart from Brahm Mohindra in this committee, Medical Education and Research Minister OP Soni, Rural Development and Panchayat Minister Trupt Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Transport Minister Razia Sultana, Health and Family Welfare Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu, School Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla and Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Ma Minister of Malas Bharat Bhushan Ashu has been included.
For your information, let us tell you that Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) Ludhiana has canceled the Kisan Melas organized from March 12 in the state. This decision has been taken in a meeting with the vice chancellor of the university on Saturday. PAU Director Dr. Jaskaran Singh Mahal said that this decision was taken in view of a special order related to the coronavirus by the Central Government and the Government of Punjab. These fairs were to be held in Gurdaspur on 12 March, Patiala on 17 March, Ludhiana on 20 and 21 March and Bathinda on 25 March. Dr. Jaskaran said that farmers will continue to get all the facilities at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Regional Research Center and Seed Store in view of the sowing of the Sawan crops. Shops of seed and other farming literature will be open throughout the week at gate number one of PAU. It is our effort that farmers do not face any problem.
