Amritsar: Stray animals roaming freely on the roads in the Barnala district of Punjab are proving fatal to the general public. Here a bull trapped a person with a bicycle in its horns and threw him into the air for ten feet, due to which the person fell on his head and died on the way to the hospital. The deceased has been identified as Billu Ram, a resident of Tapa.

According to the information, this bull was harassing people on the road. People were trying to remove him from the middle of the road, but he was not moving from his place. Meanwhile, an attempt was made to remove it from the road by pouring that water, but he remained standing in the middle of the road. After this, when Billu Ram (60) riding a bicycle came out from there, the bewildered bull lifted the cyclist by its horns and slammed him on the ground. Meanwhile, he also tried to escape, but the bull did not give him a chance to recover. Passers-by captured this incident in their cameras, the video of which is now becoming fiercely viral on social media.

At present, there are about 2.5 lakh stray animals in the state. The responsibility of whose management lies with the district administration. The Punjab government had also constituted a committee to deal with this problem, but the plans have still not been completed. To solve the growing problem of stray animals in Punjab, about two years ago, CM Captain Amarinder Singh had formed a five-member cabinet sub-committee.
