Amritsar: Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi on Thursday expressed deep grief over the killing of a principal and a teacher by terrorists at a government school in Srinagar. He has also urged the Centre to take effective steps immediately to ensure the safety of the people. CM Channi in his condolence message told the Centre that there is a constant threat and fear from various terrorist organizations in the state.

Therefore, effective steps should be taken to ensure the safety of the people living in this environment, he added. CM Channi has also stressed the need to inculcate a sense of security among such people. He also asked the BJP-led government at the Centre to intensify law and order so that the culprits can be arrested immediately, who committed this heinous crime by destroying the spirit of peace, harmony and brotherhood.

The CM further pointed out that the culprits should be punished the strictest punishment as per law so that terrorists do not dare to repeat such heinous acts. This act should be condemned in the strongest terms. On the other hand, after CM Channi's statement, people are questioning whether former Congress President Rahul Gandhi or General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi will also visit Kashmir to console the families of the victims, or whether they go to UP to bake political dough only after seeing the elections and the opposition government.
