Chandigarh: In view of the counting of votes for the Punjab Assembly Elections 2022 in Punjab today i.e. on Thursday, prohibitory orders under Section 144 have been imposed in all the districts and the gathering of people outside the counting centres has been banned. Yes, on the other hand, as per the instructions of the Election Commission, all necessary arrangements have been made for the counting, the winning candidate or their representative can go to the counting centre to collect the certificate with just two persons.

Apart from this, the Election Commission has banned the victory procession. Punjab has been set up at 66 places and the counting of votes has already started at 8:00 am at 117 counting centres. The results of the Punjab assembly elections will be declared after the counting of votes. According to reports received amidst all this, 45 companies of Central Armed Police Forces have been deployed at the counting centres and about 7500 officers are being engaged in the counting process.
