Shiromani Akali Dal patron Parkash Singh Badal, who is known as the 'Pitamah' in Punjab's politics entered the fray from his traditional Lambi assembly seat. Prakash Singh Badal, a five-time chief minister, is in the fray for the 11th time at the age of 94. Badal has won five consecutive elections since 1997 from Lambi Assembly constituency of Muktsar district. Against Badal, Congress has fielded Jagpal Singh and Aam Aadmi Party has fielded Gurmeet Khudiyan. At the same time, a total of seven candidates are in the fray from this hot seat. This time Badal's reputation is at stake.

Chief Minister and Congress CM Face Charanjit Singh Channi is in the fray this time from two assembly seats. Yes, and there is a Chamkaur Sahib Assembly seat. The assembly seat falling in the Rupnagar district has been reserved for the Scheduled Castes. In this time's assembly elections, the contest is also tough here. But he's far behind. Charanjit Singh Channi, who was made the Chief Minister just a few months before the assembly elections, is once again the Congress candidate from here.

In fact, he has been elected MLA from here for three consecutive terms in 2007, 2012 and 2017. On behalf of the Aam Aadmi Party, Dr Charanjit Singh is seen giving him a tough fight once again. Amidst all this, there is news that CM Channi has reached the government office and he is about to resign! However, there is no seal on this news so far.
