Amritsar: The Bhagwant Mann government of Punjab is preparing to lease a modern aircraft for VIP use. For this, the state government has issued tenders. It is being told that the government wants to rent an aircraft with 8 to 10 seats for one year. The Civil Aviation Department of the State Government has also sought quotations for this. At present, the government has its own helicopter, in which only 4 or 5 people can sit. Now the opposition has started surrounding them with this decision of the Punjab government.

Bhagwant Mann Sarkar will hire a Dassault Falcon 2000 fixed wing aircraft for a period of one year. Earlier, the government fixed-wing aircraft of Punjab had become a victim of an accident in 2008. At present, if the state hires a fixed wing aircraft on a daily basis on a need basis, it will be a costly proposition. Therefore, the Punjab government will rent the aircraft on a one-year lease and this lease will continue to be extended as per the requirement.

At the same time, no clarification has been given by the Punjab government on the issue of leasing the aircraft, but the Akali Dal and BJP have targeted the Punjab government on the matter of renting the aircraft. Describing the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as a gimmicky party, Punjab BJP leader Raj Kumar Verka said that the money of the people of Punjab is being wasted. He said that the Punjab government is rotating Kejriwal sahib for free. Now he issued the order that this helicopter is small, big aircraft should be bought, so this tender has been issued.
